I feel like I need to add a disclaimer to this particular piece as I actually bought all the different parts separately and then put them all together. None of the items were sculpted by me this time around.

Miniature Scene "Pepper's Ghost" Illusion Box
I recently learned how to create a the Pepper's Ghost illusion. I've been going crazy with it ever since. This is a small Halloween box decorated inside with a 1/4 inch scale miniature haunted house scene. Notice the tiny haunted phone with the receiver floating in the air like a ghost has decided to make a call. There is also a small crystal ball and a frightened cat with its back arched. The room is rigged with working lights that turn on and off. When the lights come on, a small transparent ghost appears in the room. This illusion is hard to capture on film. If you look at the very last of the pictures above, you can barely see her materializing in front of the fireplace.
(Click on the pictures to view up close.)
The ghost illusion is accomplished by placing a piece of slanted plastic in front of the scene as you see in the photo above. The real ghost is hidden in the lower left hand corner so she can not be seen when peering through the window in the front of the box. (see photo below) When the lights come on, her reflection appears on the plastic, making it look like there is a ghost appearing and disappearing inside the room.
It looks much more amazing when viewed in real life, when the box is dark and everything is lit up with tiny internal lights.

Miniature Haunted House Scene Illusion Necklace
I recently discovered how to create the "Pepper's Ghost" illusion. I thought I'd try my hand at creating this Halloween necklace which has a miniature skeleton ghost that appears and disappears as the light in the house goes on and off. The Pepper's Ghost illusion is hard to photograph but I think you can still see the little skeleton glowing inside the house. (second picture) He then quickly vanishes as the lights go out. (first picture) The attic window also lights up. Inside the house is a tiny couch, table, black cat, pumpkins, candles, potions, and two teeny tiny frogs.

Cozy Dog and Cat by the Fireplace Necklace
I've been working on a new kind of necklace this time. This is a miniature scene inside a locket. If you will notice, the flames in the fireplace actually light up, turning slowly on and off. It looks a lot more cool in real life than it does in these pictures because of the camera's flash.

Steampunk Necklace
I've currently got a work in progress. In the end it will be a steampunk necklace with a small polymer clay Victorian couple attached. This necklace has been way more work intensive than I ever imagined. I don't know what I was thinking when I decided to start creating something on this scale. It has taken weeks of work. And there are probably weeks of work ahead. Here are pictures of what I've gotten done so far. I'll post the finished product when it is all through.
